[Class 39 (i).] The anode 1 is of platelike material with openings 2 non-uniform as regards magnitude or form, for example, as shown, or as regards closeness of spacing, to obtain the " variable-mu " effect. The valve has one or more grids which may be non- uniform and the cathode may have different emission at different parts. The electrodes are shown as coaxial cylinders but may be non- uniformly spaced.
