390,364. Electric transformers. AKT.- GES. BROWN, BOVERI, ET CIE, Baden, Switzerland. June 20, 1932, No. 17443. Convention date, June 20, 1931. [Class 38 (ii).] Caps of paper, press-spahn, or the like, serving as end caps for the insulating cylinders used in transformer construction, are made by forming slits b<1>, b<2> on the inner or outer or both peripheries of ring-shaped discs a, and bending the tongues c<1>, c<2> thus formed at rightangles to the plane of the disc, the resulting caps having a polygonal periphery and an L- or U-shaped cross-section. When a plurality of coaxial insulating cylinders are arranged to surround a coil, the concentrically superposed caps may be arranged with the slits offset with respect to one another at the periphery.
