Abstract
389,345. Colour photography and Mnematography ; prisms. CHAPMAN, W., 71, Grovelands Road, Palmers Green, London. July 7, 1932, No. 19258. [Classes 97 (i) and 98 (ii).] Three - colour screen master colour photographs are projected on to multicolour screen copy material or on to an observing screen through an optical device constituting in itself means for quadrupling the image so as to produce overlapping of the colour elements. The optical device may consist of a double-image prism, as described in Specification 371,477, with a second image doubling device disposed immediately adjacent and at right-angles thereto, e.g. a biprism, a parallel glass plate and a prism or a pair of prisms. Fig. 7 shows another device comprising a quartz prism Q and a pair of compensating glass prisms G inclined to each other. Fig. 5 shows a lens suitable for a kinematograph projector divided into four parts P<1> .. P<4> each having a slight prism angle. Colour separation photographs, e.g. for printing blocks, may be obtained by using an appropriate colour filter with the image-quadrupling device.
