Abstract
386,103. Collapsable cardboard boxes. EBURITE CORRUGATED CONTAINERS, Ltd. and CASTLE, J., Park Royal Road, North Acton, London. Dec. 12, 1931, No. 34511. [Class 18.] A collapsable cardboard &c. box or tray of the kind formed from a single blank consisting of a bottom 1, Figs. 1 and 6, foldable sides such as 2, 3, creased so that their upper parts form flaps, and lateral wings such as 2a, 4a, Fig. 1, or 2a, 3a, 4a, Fig. 6, which are enclosed by the turned-down flaps so that the vertical corner joints are of multiple thickness, has apertures 8 in an opposite pair of wall portions and in their flaps which coincide in the erected position so as to constitute handholes unobstructed by enclosed wings. The flaps 2a may be slit along the line b. A strengthening bottom-board may be inserted which may have upturned edge flanges abutting the edges of the down-turned flaps of the box walls. An internal cellular fitting may be employed in which bottles may be held. No securing means such as stitching need be used for the box.
