[Class 85.] A roller-cutter drill for wellboring comprises a head 4 with an integral eccentric projection 4a in which is a lower recess 5 receiving cylindrical cutters 6, 7, 8, and with upwardly inclined studs 14a, 15a of unequal length on which further cutters 16, 17, 18 are supported. The axes of all the cutters are in the same vertical plane. The central cutters 6, 7, 8 may be spaced by washers 13 and are supported on a sleeve 9 with fixed and loose heads 9a, 10, both eccentric and engaging counter bores in the ends of the recess 5 to prevent rotation. A pin 11 extends through the sleeve 9 into bores in the end walls of the recess 5 and is held by washers 19 on the studs 14a, 15a. The cutters 16, 17, 18 rotate on, and are held by, flanged nuts 20, 21, threaded to the studs 14a, 15a, and locked by suitable means. Flushing fluid is supplied to the cutters through ports 22, 23, 24 and arcuate recesses 25, 26 are formed in the bit head to facilitate return flow of such fluid.
