Abstract

385,708. Embossing-presses. SHACKLETON, H., 17, Sistova Road, Balham, and WALKER, S. F., 149, Parnell Road, Bow, both in London. Nov. 10, 1931, No. 31128. [Class 100 (ii).] In a hand-press for embossing a seal or similar imprint on paper, the die 2 is secured to the transverse arm 1a of a T-shaped leaf spring 1 secured at the other end 5 to the frame of the press. A camlever 7 is provided for depressing the die 2 into contact with a counterpart 6. The spring 1 is curved or bent so that the face of the die 2 is inclined to the horizontal in the inoperative position to facilitate insertion of the paper between the dies.
