385,660. Golf clubs. SPALDING & BROS. (BRITISH), Ltd., A. G., Deodar Road, Putney, London. - (Assignees of East, J. V. ; Longmeadow, Massachusetts, U.S.A.) Aug. 19, 1931, No. 23327. Convention date, Feb. 14. [Class 132 (ii).] A matched set of golf clubs, wood or iron, has the striking faces 3, 3a, 3b varied from club to club by an inclination of the striking faces with respect to one another about an horizontal axis 4 in the plane of the face which axis is above the sole line 5a and substantially passes through the impact point of the heads. This construction maintains the impact point from club to club at substantially the same distance from the vertical plane 2-2 through the shaft when the club is grounded, so as to give uniformity of timing of impact in the set of clubs. In the matched set the sole face of each club is maintained in the same angular relation with the vertical plane 2-2. In the Figure the sole face 5 is maintained at right-angles to plane 2-2 from club to club.
