Abstract
383,946. Television. FERNSEH AKT.- GES., Goerzallee, Zehlendorf, Berlin. Sept. 6, 1932, No. 24840. Convention date, Sept. 12, 1931. [Class 40 (iii).] The space surrounding a Nipkow disc is given such a shape that the quantity of air driven by the disc is as small as possible and eddy formations avoided. The Nipkow disc 2 may rotate within a stationary cylinder 4 having transparent windows 6, 7 for viewing purposes. 'The rim 5 of the cylinder may be omitted or the cylinder may be replaced by a stationary guard of U-shaped section embracing the rim of the disc 2. The invention is particularly applicable for Nipkow discs having large numbers of scanning apertures and rotating very rapidly.
