Abstract
383,119. Stringed musical instruments. WIECZOREK, O., 20, Spichernstrasse, Berlin. Feb. 2, 1932, No. 3085. Convention date, Aug. 27, 1931. [Class 88 (ii).] A sound-post 16, adjustable in length on endpieces 14, 19 having right and left-hand threads, has an " outrigger " bearing against the underside of the belly. There is no bassbar. The outrigger may consist of a leaf spring 21, Fig. 2, or a number of superposed leaf springs, Fig. 5 (not shown), or two members 27, 28, Fig. 6, with a plunger 30 at the end adjustable by turning a nut 29. In constructions for larger instruments, Figs. 8 and 9 (not shown), the plunger 30 may be spring-pressed, and the parts may be made of aluminium alloy.
