Abstract
382,710. Window-sills ; blocks. McKENZIE, J. T., 62, Parkside Street, Rosyth, Fifeshire. Sept. 17, 1931, No. 26040. [Classes 20 (iii)] and 87 (i).] A window sill comprises two concrete mouldings a, b separated by a vertical gap, Fig. 2, or impervious division, Figs. 4, 6 and 8, so situated that when the sill is in place the top of the gap or division is covered by the wooden sill f. The two parts of the block are held together by ties or reinforcements. In the form shown in Fig. 2, the two parts of the sill are connected by ties d having notches to allow water to drip. Bitumen or neat cement may be placed in the gap after moulding. In the form shown in Fig. 4, a division m of slate, metal, or asbestos is fastened to the two mouldings by bolts n carrying nuts n<2>. In the form shown in Fig. 6, reinforcements p in the mouldings are interconnected by ties o. In the form shown in Fig. 8 the two mouldings are united by a dovetail-shaped piece of sheet metal r. The inner moulding may be of pumice- or breeze-concrete and the outer of ordinary concrete. The Provisional Specification states that the division may terminate short of the faces of the sill to form a groove.
