[Class 39 (iii).] A three-phase furnace employs three pancake coils shaped to conform to the cylindrical surface of the melting chamber and having their axes spaced 120‹ apart on the circumference of a circle concentric with the axes of the chamber The coils may be arranged wholly on the cylindrical -wall or partly on the convex bottom of the chamber.
