[Classes 103 (iv) and 108 (i).] A horizontal inspection platform for the trolley-head of an electricallydriven vehicle comprises a flap 4 mounted at one or both ends of the vehicle or on one side near an end and hinged at 3 so as to occupy preferably a vertical position as shown when not in use. The flap may be accessible from the upper deck, the staircase, or from the outside of the vehicle and in the last two cases one or more foldable steps may be provided to assist climbing. In a vehicle having a covered upper deck the flap when not in use may cover the outside of an opening or it may be hinged below a window 1 inside the vehicle and held bv a catch 5 in this position to prevent rattling, and be swung through the window opening to its outside horizontal position in which it is supported by the window-sill 11, rubber stops being provided between the flap and sill. When applied to a vehicle with an open upper deck the flap is supported in its operative position on the vehicle rail or other support. Serrated tread plates may be provided on the flap.
