380,623. Boots &c. McLERIE, D., New Hey Mill, Newchurch Road, Bacup, Lancashire. Oct. 13, 1931, No. 28420. [Class 17 (ii).] Parts of footwear are connected to each other by passing fancy or crochet-like stitching through one part and then sewing, by hand or machine, the other part or parts to this fancy stitching, so that the effect produced is that the parts are connected together by the fancy stitching. In the example illustrated, stout macramÚ cord or like material is crocheted along the edge of an upper portion 2 through perforations 3, and the other portions of the upper are machine sewn through loops 5 of the crochet stitching 4.
