Abstract

379,946. Mop wringing appliances. ROBERTSON, J. W., Rutherstone, Cornwall Road, Cheam, Surrey. Dec. 22, 1931, No. 35471. [Class 19.] A bucket or like receptacle 1, preferably rectangular in form, is provided with a roller 8 which can be moved to squeeze a mop 7 against a fixed plate 2 within the bucket. The plate 2 is perforated, and is flanged at 3 for connection with the sides of the bucket. The upper edge of the plate 2 is spaced from the edge of the receptacle and bent over a transverse rod 4 secured by members 5 attached to the receptacle. The lower part of the plate rests against a bar 6. The roller 8 may be of wood, metal, or rubber, and is mounted on a frame 9 pivoted at 10 to the receptacle and provided with a handle 11. The receptacle has studs 15 for the operator's feet to rest upon. The roller arms may be operated by tooth gearing or by rods against spring pressure.
