379,173. Valves closing with rush of fluid. BURGERHOUT, H., 109, Laan van Nieuw Oost-Einde, Voorburg, Holland. Dec. 10, 1931, No. 34313. [Class 135.] A valve closing with rush of fluid particularly applicable for use on gas conduits supplying domestic cooking and lighting appliances, comprises a leaky diaphragm 4 clamped between the two parts 2, 7 of a casing and adapted to co-operate with a seat 12 surrounding the outlet 6. A series of apertures 8 are provided in the diaphragm to permit the normal flow of gas. Baffles 9, 10 are arranged in front of the inlet and outlet apertures to prevent tampering with the diaphragm. The inlet and outlet nozzles may be fitted with elastic linings or nipples to facilitate the attachment to the gas piping.
