Abstract
378,853. Road kerbs. POCHIN, C. D., Craig-Lelo Hall, Corwen, Merionethshire. April 16, 1931, No. 11241. [Classes 87 (i) and 107.] The outer face of a kerb is provided with glass reflecting studs 3 which are located in recesses 2 in the kerb and are arranged to face the oncoming traffic in either or both directions of the road. The recesses may either be of elongated form with a stud 3 disposed at each end as shown in Fig. 1, or of tapered form with a stud 3 at the deep end, as shown in Fig. 5. The stud facing in one direction may be red and those facing in the opposite direction white. The studs may be mounted in metal holders. A glass stud may, alternatively, be fitted at the end of one kerb block so as to be disposed in a recess 2 of an adjacent block as shown in Fig. 6. In another form, the studs may be mounted on stakes, blocks or plates of wood, metal, concrete, &c. arranged between adjacent kerb blocks, and recesses in the faces of the kerbs may receive the studs.
