[Class 104 (ii).] A rail fastening comprises a plate A having a pair of ribs 1, 2 engaging the rail flanges, and clamps 8, 10 fixed by self-centring bolts 7, of which the spherical heads are inserted into spherical recesses a in the plate A through slots 5 in the ribs. The engagement between the clamps and the slots in the ribs prevents rail creep. The ends of the clamps bearing on the plate A may be cylindrical so that they may rock thereon, and may be slidably mounted in recesses in the plate.
