Abstract
378,255. Changing signs. KELLETT, A. F., 24, York Place, and HAYES, G., Haysleigh, King Lane, Alwoodley, both in Leeds. Oct. 12, 1931, No. 28245. [Class 3 (i).] In route or destination indicators of the kind in which a display band is wound on and off two rollers, the power being automatically transferred to the winding-on roller according to the direction of rotation of the operating handle, the drive is through helical gears 3, 4 which are constantly in mesh. The gear wheels 4 slide on the roller shafts 5 to bring ratchet teeth 6, 6x into or out of engagement, a spring 7 being preferably introduced to facilitate disengagement. The handle may be on the shaft 1 carrying the gear wheels 3, or may be on a supplementary shaft 9 arranged at an angle to the shaft 1. Specification 366,374 is referred to.
