377,913. Frequency changing ; converting. BRITISH THOMSON-HOUSTON CO., Ltd., Crown House, Aldwych, London.-(Assignees of Stone, C. W.; Box 985, Schenectady, New York, U.S.A.) Feb. 27, 1932, No. 5911. Convention date, Feb. 28, 1931. '[Class 38 (ii).] An arrangement for transmitting power from a circuit 10 operating at one frequency to a circuit 11 operating at another frequency comprises a grid-regulated valve rectifier 13, 14 feeding a grid-controlled valve inverter 24, 25, the grid potentials of which are derived from the circuit 11. Control of the power transmitted is effected by varying the phase of the grid potentials of the rectifier valves 13, 14 as by a rotary phase shifter 17. Current limiting resistances 16, 27 are provided in the grid circuits, and a smoothing reactor 22 is provided in the D.C. circuit 21.
