Abstract
377,723. Cleaning condenser &c.tubes. BRENDLIN, A., 15, Bearntenkolonie, Knapsack, near Cologne, Germany. March 25, 1931, No. 9109. Convention date, March 25, 1930. [Class 99 (ii).] A condenser &c. tube x is cleaned by a pistonshaped member a which is of smaller diameter than the tube and is driven therethrough by water &c. under pressure. The motion of the piston is restrained by an hydraulic device r through a cord &c. b, thus causing an accumulation of pressure at the back of the piston with a resultant high velocity of water through the gap between the piston and tube. The device r may be such that the piston, after passing through the tube, is automatically returned when the pressure of the cleaning water is removed. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also a spring for restraining the piston. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
