[Class 97 (i).] Intermittent-feed mechanism comprises two or more pins h<1>, h<2> simultaneously engaging film perforations above and below the gate aperture, the pins being carried by a bar h moving parallel to itself. The bar may be carried by crank pins on discs h<5>, h<8> secured to shafts carrying pinions meshing with a driving gear bl rotated by a hand crank. The gear b<1> also meshes with a pinion b4, Fig. 5, frictionally connected to a shaft e carrying the take-up spool f<1>, connection being effected by a collar e<1> secured to the shaft e and stressing a spring e<3> holding the pinion b<4> against a collar e<5> fixed to the shaft. Contrate teeth formed on the gear b<1> mesh with a pinion b<5> to drive a semicircular shutter c. The gate may be constructed as described in Specification 377,292 and has a framing aperture smaller in area than the framing aperture in a frame plate a ; it is held in place by four guides d<1> .. d<4>, two of which, d<2>, d<3>, carry springs pressing it on to the film. A lamp bulb in a tube d<9>, fed by leads m<1>, m<2> from a plug on the casing, enables the apparatus to be used as a projector.
