Abstract
375,669. R÷ntgen-ray tubes. INTERNATIONAL GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Inc., 120, Broadway, New York, U.S.A.- (Assignees of Allgemeine Elektricitõts-Ges.; 2, Friedrich Karl-Ufer, Berlin.) Oct. 28, 1931, No. 29902. Convention date, Oct. 28, 1930. [Class 39 (i).] The wall a surrounding the discharge zone has its outer and inner surfaces maintained at the same potential and is surrounded by a separate vacuum chamber b. The wall a may be of metal, or may have interconnected metal layers a<1>, a<2> on its surfaces as shown. The outer wall of the chamber b may be of glass or other insulating material or may be partly or wholly of metal, a corrugated copper part c sealed to glass ends i allowing for heat expansions. The layer a<1> may be of tungsten, tantalum or other metal absorbing X-rays and a, disc of such metal may be mounted on the cathode. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) comprises also tubes in which the vacuum chamber b is connected to the discharge space by openings at one or both ends e, f, the openings being of such size and position that charges do not penetrate into the chamber b. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
