375,195. Coke ovens. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, London.-(Otto & Co. Ges., Dr. C. ; 9, Christstrasse, Bochum, Germany.) Nov. 24, 1931, No. 32572. [Class 55 (i).] In horizontal chamber ovens 1 provided with twin flues 3, 4, and recuperators 8, 9 below the chambers for heating the gas and air, in each heating wall 2 a vertical steam pipe 32a or 32b is disposed in the upper brickwork of the oven adjacent the heating flues 4, and from each of these pipes, horizontal distributing pipes 34 are branched off at different levels in the bonding of the heating wall, and are provided with downwardly inclined steam outlets 35 relatively spaced so that there is uniform distribution of the steam over the whole chamber wall.
