Abstract

374,598. Garment hangers. DALLAS, E. J., Gayhurst School, Gerrard's Cross, Buckinghamshire. May 12, 1931, No. 14060. [Classes 52 (ii) and 52 (v).] A clothes hanger is adapted to be fixed at the foot of a bed, and also to serve as a support for airing bedclothes. A wooden frame a, b suspended on the foot of a bed by hooks c has a second frame f, g pivoted d thereto, either, as shown, by hinges e, or by being mounted on the transverse rail b. When used as a clothes hanger, the frame f, g is held in the position shown, by knuckle-jointed struts m, allowing a third frame, having sides k pivotally mounted on the transverse rail g, a curved top j, and a rail k both for supporting clothes, to hang vertically. When required as a support for airing bed-clothes, the frame h, j, k is rotated until lugs n bear against the bars f. The apparatus may be folded up by closing the frame h, j, k between the supports f, and allowing the latter to fall vertically by flexing the struts m.
