Abstract

<PICT:0372395/IV/1> Filaments are wound in conical layers on bobbins, as shown in Fig. 2, in bobbin spinning machines to facilitate subsequent treatment on the bobbins. A guide lever 7 is oscillated to wind each layer by means of an eccentric bowl 10 bearing against a cam 13 and driven by chain gearing from a shaft 20 and is moved to displace the layers by the gradual rotation of the cam 13. The speed of the winding-spindle 1 is varied in accordance with the variation in the diameter of each layer by cam-shaped spur-wheels 18, 19, and is further varied in accordance with the diameter of the bobbin when winding on conical bobbins by means of cone belt mechanism arranged to drive the shaft 20, whereby a uniform speed of the filament is ensured during the entire winding.
