Abstract
372,058. Centrifugal machines. AKTIEBOLAGET SEPARATOR, 8, Flem. inggatan, Stockholm. April 2, 1931, No. 10051. Convention date, April 5, 1930. [Class 23.] Liquid to be treated is supplied to a centrifugal separator through the tube 1, and the light constituents are discharged from the outlet 6; the heavy liquid constituents pass from the bowl upwards through the channels 8 and are discharged over the exchangeable regulating disc 9. The solids and other heavy matters are discharged through nozzles 10 directed backwards in relation to the rotation of the bowl, the discharge being assisted by an auxiliary liquid supplied through the tube 11 and the channels 14. These channels and the chamber 13 may be arranged in one element, and they may be formed in a lining 15 placed inside the wall 16. In the modification shown in Fig. 2 the auxiliary liquid is led to the peripheral chamber 18 which communicates with the sludge space by openings 19, and from which the nozzles 10 discharge the heavy matters. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specification 344,464.
