Abstract

Emulsions for use as sizes for artificial silk threads which are to be cr<\>zeped are made by pouring a molten wax such as beeswax into a solution of soap such as Marseilles soap with stirring and adding to the emulsion thus formed a dextrin solution, which, preferably, has been neutralized with sodium carbonate.ALSO:A size for artificial silk threads which are to be craped consists of an emulsion containing a wax such as beeswax and dextrin. For example, molten beeswax is poured into a solution of soap such as Marseilles soap with stirring and to the emulsion thus formed is added a dextrin solution which has preferably been neutralized with sodium carbonate. The size may be removed by hot water.ALSO:A size for artificial silk threads which are to be cr<\>zeped consists of an emulsion containing a wax such as beeswax and dextrin. Molten beeswax is poured into a solution of soap such as Marseilles soap with stirring, and to the emulsion thus formed is added a dextrin solution which has preferably been neutralized with sodium carbonate. The size may be removed by hot water.
