371,573. Attaching knobs and handles to spindles. BODEN, R. B., 41, Green Lanes, Wylde Green, Warwickshire. March 31, 1931, No. 9692. [Class 44.] i A door knob 2 is secured to a spindle 5 by a plate 8 carried in a slot 7 of a collar part 3 of the knob. The plate is held in engagement with one of the notches 6 in the spindle by the rose 14. When the rose is turned to bring the cut-away part 16 beneath the plate 8, the latter falls and the knob is released. Pins 11 limit the movement of the plate 8 or the plate may.be pivoted to the collar part. In a modification, two pivoted plates are used which engage notches on opposite sides of the spindle. The knob is formed as described in Specification 371,574.
