[Class 98 (ii).] Material sensitized with diazo compounds alone or in conjunction with azo components is protected by applying with adhesive on the sensitive face or on both faces, a transparent sheet of a cellulose derivative, such as an ester or ether, or a sheet of cellulose hydrate lacquered on both sides with a cellulose ester or ether varnish. The material may comprise a base of paper, linen, paper, or cellulose hydrate sensitized by coating thereon an aqueous solution or a gelatin emulsion of the sensitizing agent, or by incorporating the agent in the mass. Sensitizing materials such as are described in Specification 210,862, [Class 98 (ii), Photographic processes &c.], may be used. The protective layer may be attached by means of an adhesive comprising a solution of a natural or artificial resin in an organic solvent, preferably with the addition of a softening agent. Development may be effected with ammonia gas, or with liquid by the "wet" or "half-wet" process ; if with liquid, this is preferably caused to act through the base. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to protective coatings of a similar nature, and includes material sensitized with silver salts or bichromates. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
