370,618. Imitation fires. BELLING, C. R. and BRUNTON, D. M. M., Bridge Works, Southbury Road, Enfield, Middlesex. March 18, 1931, No. 8306. [Class 126.] An imitation fire comprises one or more electric lamps c which are carried and shielded by members a representing fuel, which illuminate the adjacent fuel e. In the form shown, the lamp is carried in the hollow interior of the fuel member a by a bracket b, forming a unit which can be moved as desired. Alternatively, the lamp may be carried by the fuel e and shielded by the member a. The lamp may be coloured, or the light may pass through a coloured screen, and a reflector may be provided; a flicker device may also be incorporated. In a modification, luminous heating elements mounted in the fuel member may be used to give both light and heat. Non-luminous wire heating elements may be mounted on the outer surface of the shield member.
