369,256. Hydraulic transmission of power. BARNES CORPORATION, J. S., 301, South Water Street, Rockford, Illinois, U.S.A. - (Assignees of Svenson, E. J. ; 301, South Water Street, Rockford, Illinois, U.S.A.) Sept. 5, 1930, No. 30781/31. Convention date, March 27, 1930. Divided on 368,792. [Class 69 (ii).] Hydraulic systems for operating machine parts comprise pumps 172, 172a, Fig. 3, driven from a tool or work-supporting spindle and connected to the ends of working cylinders. Each pump has a stationary cylinder block 174, Figs. 1 and 2, the pistons engaging pivoted fingers 208 ; the eccentricity of the member 178 is varied by moving an inclined member 222, and a tapered distributing valve 188 is provided. The working cylinders may be supplied, to effect rapid motion, from a pump 136, under the control of a valve 138, which also serves to control the position of a piston 292 connected to clutch mechanism for the main spindle. The capacity of the gear pump may be varied by means of a valve 253, Fig. 4, and radial passages 257 are provided in one pinion. Specifications 366,928 and 368,792 are referred to. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 151,303 and 188,013, [both in Class 69 (ii), Hydraulic presses &c.].
