Abstract
366,781. Pistons. STEVENS, C. H., Romsey, One Pin Lane, Farnham Common, Buckinghamshire, and HADDY, F. G., Park Royal Hotel, Leinster Terrace, Bayswater, London. March 23, 1931, No. 8838. [Class 122 (i).] In a piston comprising steel &c. parts welded together, a crown 1 is secured to a disc 2 by means of webs 3. The head thus formed is welded into a skirt 4. and may rest on a flange 9 in the skirt, or on a flange on the lower part of a two-part skirt. The hole in the disc 2 may be covered by a plate 12. The gudgeon-pin bosses may be secured to the disc 2, or to the skirt, or a pistonrod may be secured to the disc 2.
