Abstract
365,227. Drying-appliances for the hair. SALM, A., 3, Leonhardstrasse, Braunschweig, Germany. Nov. 4, 1930, No. 33089. [Class 131.] A hair-drying device adapted to fit over the head comprises a hot-air distributing- chamber a on which are pivoted a series of annular tubes b having inwardly-directed air outlet holes. The ends of the tubes are mounted in openings m in the walls of the chamber a, and are secured in any desired angular position by known means, e.g. by friction or by pinching screws. The uppermost tube b is supported when in position ready for use by a hook or rest e on the chamber a, and the remaining tubes are supported in the lowest positions either by rests g on the exterior of the chamber a, or by chains f attached to the overlying tubes. The front part of the lowest tube b is cranked upwardly to avoid heating the forehead. Shorter tubes hare pivotally mounted on both sides of the lower part of the chamber a for drying the back hair. The chamber a is provided with a hot air inlet i which is rotatably mounted in a stan dard k, and may contain a throttle valve. Throttle valves may also be provided for controlling the air supply to the tubes b, h separately, or for controlling the supply to each individual tube.
