Abstract

A plasticizer for use in the production of plastic masses, films, lacquers, &c., from cellulose esters or ethers comprises an ether of glycerol, etherified by one or more molecules of glycerol or a glycol, and esterified in at least one hydroxyl group by a mono-carboxylic acid or acids excluding those containing more than one type of reactive group such as salicylic acid or benzoyl-benzoic acid. Examples of such substances are diglycerol tetracetate, diglycerol triacetate, triglycerol triacetate, triglycerol tetracetate. The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) refers also to the use as plasticizer of ethers of glycerol esterified in at least one hydroxyl group, diacetyl-diglycerol diacetylsalicylic ester being given as an example. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.ALSO:A plasticizer for use in the production of plastic masses, films, lacquers, &c., from cellulose esters or ethers comprises an ether of glycerol, etherified by one or more molecules of glycerol or a glycol, and esterified in at least one hydroxyl group by a mono-carboxylic acid or acids excluding those containing more than one type of reactive group such as salicylic acid or benzoyl-benzoic acid. Examples of such substances are diglycerol tetracetate, diglycerol triacetate, triglycerol triacetate, triglycerol tetracetate.
