Abstract

363,836. Pipe couplings. GAS LIGHT & COKE CO., CLARK,J. G., and AUSTEN, C. R., 84, Horseferry Road, London. Dec. 23, 1930, No. 38765. [Class 99 (i).] A coupling device for flexible tubes comprises integral or rigidly connected concentric sleeves 1, 4 between which the tube is gripped, the outer sleeve having longitudinal slits 2 forming tongues which are deformed to grip the tube. The ends of the sleeve are chamfered or bevelled at 8, 9. The base of the coupling may be provided with an internal or external screw-thread 6 for connection to a fitting or another coupling. In a modified form the coupling consists of separate sleeves which are held together by another sleeve of shorter length which is forced between them at one end.
