Abstract
362,741. Lifting-cradles. MAHONEY, M., 6, Crown Street, and WALSH, P., 6, Mendalgief Road, both in Newport, Monmouthshire. Jan. 21, 1931, No. 1997. [Class 78 (iv).] A lifting -cradle has a base h on which the load f is placed. A top plate b formed of angleirons spaced apart by blocks is placed on the top of the load. Chains A secured at one end A<1> to the top plate pass round pulley blocks c secured to the base and are threaded through the top plate and secured to a spreader bar a and to the crane ring g. Cams a<1>, Fig. 3, having operating handles a<3> are mounted in the ends of the top plate and when rotated are adapted to press the chains A against the curved spacing blocks a<4> and thus hold the load in position. The base may be fitted with rollers.
