362,647. Printing-machines. TRIGGS, W. W., 57, Lincoln's Inn Fields, London.-(Wood Newspaper Machinery Corporation; 501, 5th Avenue, New York, U.S.A.) Nov. 21, 1930, No. 35150. [Class 100 (ii).] Driving printing- machines ; rotary machines.-A printing press unit is formed with a rigid projection 17 extending above the level of the printing couples 10, 11, 12, upon which is mounted the electric driving motor 19 with its shaft parallel to the axles of the printing couples and having a sprocket wheel 21 and a chain 22a to drive the printing couples. The driving gear consists of a loose gear 22 mounted on the shaft of an impression cylinder 11, which is engaged by the chain 22a : fixed to the gear 22 is a gear 25 meshing with a gear 27 fixed to the end of an adjacent cylinder 11. The several impression and plate cylinders are connected together by gears mounted at the opposite end to that shown so that the drive is transmitted from one to another.
