Abstract
362,516. Thermal switches ; partly electromagnetic switches. SATCHWELL, L., 31, Mackenzie Street, Slough, Bucking- hamshire. Sept. 6, 1930, No. 26707. [Class 38 (v).] A thermal switch of the kind described in Specification 305,077, [Class 38 (v), Electric switches &c.], but adapted for controlling the temperature of a hot water cistern &c., comprises a bimetallic strip 5 pivoted at 7 on a currentcarrying channel-shaped member 1 and carrying a contact 4 adapted to engage a contact 3 on the member 1. A magnet 2 on the member 1 causes a quick make and break and the initial position of the strip 5 is adjusted by a screw 13 passing through an extension 12 of the member 1 and bearing on an extension 11 of the member 5. An insulating member 17 encloses the lower ends of the members 1, 5, and a portion 19 of it acts as a stop. The whole device is inserted in a tube 14 adapted to be sweated into the cistern and the side edges of the block 17 fit closely against the sides of the tube to locate the switch centrally therein.
