361,713. Lasts. BEHRENS, ALFELDER SCHUHLEISTEN FABRIKEN AKT.-GES., C., Alfeld-on-Leine, Germany. Jan. 24, 1931, No. 2419. Convention date, May 23, 1930. [Class 17 (i).] A last for the manufacture of low shoes has a gap-less body with no instep portion, and does not project from the shoe opening at the sole arch portion. At the shoe opening, the last is wholly convex in cross section, enabling tight-fitting of the uppers around the ankle portion to be obtained. At the portion c, the last is lower than the upper edge g of the shoe intended to be made on the last. When it is desired to make a higher shoe, the last may be modified by the addition of a thin rib d having the usual instep contour in side elevation, and an extension f at the junction between instep and the toe portion.
