[Class 120 (ii).] Thread-holding arrangements.-Roving ends are automatically secured to the spindle of a cupspinning and winding machine by providing a recess a<2> in the cup, across which the roving is laid from the slit a<1>, and a depending finger c<3> on the cone c, which engages and secures the roving end when the spindle d is lowered into the cup a.
