Abstract

<PICT:0360809/III/1> In a collecting electrode provided with catch-spaces the parts which form the catch-space are separated from the electrode proper, which is preferably earthed, by an insertion or insertions of semiconductive material, such as cement or a mixture of asbestos and cement. The catch-spaces may be formed by perforated screens separated from the electrode by cross-members of semiconductive material, or they may be of the form shown in the Figure. The semiconductive insertions may be provided with conductive insertions e.g. they may be made of reinforced concrete.
