Abstract
358,969. Aviators' garments and parachute harness. LEMERCIER FR’RES and TRICAU, G., 18, Rue,Roger Bacon, Paris. May 16, 1930, No. 15064. Convention date, May 16, 1929. [Class 141.] The parachute harness is on the inside of the garment and is maintained in position therein by means of loops or guides in which the shoulder straps, belt, &c. slide. As shown in Fig. 3, the straps 4, 5 are confined by loops 28, 29 respectively and emerge from slots 2, 3 for attachment to the parachute. The garment may be a union garment, or one made in several pieces, and may be provided with a dorsal sack or other parachute sack such as a cockpit sack, seat sack, or the like. A dorsal sack is shown in Fig. 4, and is provided with straps 38, 39 with adjusting buckles 40, 41 and loops 42, 43. Suspension members 45 forming an attaching ring are inserted through an aperture 44. One form of body harness is shown in Fig. 7 on the wearer before donning the outer garment. Two loops 13a, 14a are formed on the garment to serve as guides for the straps 13, 14, sheaths 6a, 6b for the two branches of the belt 6, and sheaths 24a, 25a for the thigh straps 25. The stress is taken by the outer sides of the legs of the wearer when the parachute is open.
