Abstract
358,830. Moulding -machine.s. ZIMMERMANN, G., 19, Lindemannstrasse, Dusseldorf, Germany. Jan. 19, 1931, No. 1691. Convention date, Jan. 28, 1930. [Class 83 (i).] Core making.-Moulding sand is projected from a container a into a core- or mould-box by compressed air or the like in said container. Sand is introduced into the container a by means of a funnel b, sealed by a closure p, and compressed air is admitted by one or more pipes d having upper or lower openings e, f or both. A rod k is then raised to any desired distance from the nozzle g by a lever or screw m and the sand enters the box h, which is closed by a piston r<1> and pressed against the nozzle g by a piston r<2>. In a modification the pistons are replaced by linkwork w, Fig. 3, operated by a treadle v. An agitator may be arranged in the container a and for large moulds a number of nozzles may be used. In another modification the projector is suspended by a travelling device over an open mould-box.
