Abstract
356,313. Hatching appliances. JENKINS, A. E., Enfield Terrace, Evercreech, Somerset. June 12, 1930, No. 18066. [Class 5 (ii).] In a device for heating and moistening air for incubators, of the type comprising a flue member for the passage of hot gases from a heater, a substantially concentric air passage in communication at one end with the interior of the incubator and at the other with the external atmosphere, and an annular vessel for the generation of steam or water vapour surrounding the air passage, the said annular vessel is provided with one or more outlets in communication with the air passage. A tubular flue 1 for a lamp, communicating with an outer space 3 by a conduit 4, is surrounded by a concentric air passage 7 open to the atmosphere at the lower end and communicating by a conduit 9 with the interior of the incubator. An annular steam or vapour generator 12 with filling aperture 13, surrounds the air passage and communicates therewith by ducts or outlets 14, and a cock or valve 16 is provided to prevent priming. An outer casing 18 of metal or asbestos and a controlling disc 21 operated by a regulating device within the incubator, cover the upper part of the apparatus. Tubes 22 may be provided to increase the heating surface of the vessel 12.
