Abstract
354,965. Metals and alloys. KRUPP AKT.-GES., F., Essen, Germany. July 15, 1930, No. 21402. Convention date, July 20, 1929. [Class 82 (i) and 82 (ii).] A tube A for use in heating molten metal &c. to a high temperature is made of a steel alloy containing up to 0À2 per cent of carbon and 0À2-20 per cent of molybdenum or vanadium, with, if desired, small amounts of chromium, silicon, aluminium and titanium, and is provided with an external layer a<1> of aluminium, chromium or zirconium applied by spraying, diffusion, &c. In the specific example given the tube comprises an alloy containing 0À12-0À17 per cent of carbon, 0À7-1À0 per cent of chromium and 0À3-0À6 per cent of molybdenum coated with aluminium.
