Abstract
354,822. Mounting shades on electric lamp bulbs. WILLIAMS, J. D., 6A, West Street, Epsom, Surrey. May 15, 1930, No. 14959. [Class 75 (ii).] In a holder for mounting a shade on an incandescent electric lamp comprising a stiff rim 11 carrying a diaphragm provided with a central aperture and radial slits 14 forming tongues 12, the rim and outer radius of the slits are sufficiently large to permit the holder to be pushed over the bulb 17 of the lamp. The diaphragm may be made of thin sheet metal, or other flexible and springy material, soldered to, or bent around, the rim. The latter may be made of wire of circular or polygonal form, and may be attached by hooks 16 to the shade frame or protector 15. Instead of making the tongues 12 integral with one another they may be separately formed and secured to the rim.
