Abstract
354,242. Steam boilers heated by waste gases. CASES, A. LEVI-, 9, Via del Santo, Padova, Italy. Jan. 30, 1930, No. 3261. Convention date, Jan. 30, 1929. [Classes 123 (ii) and 123 (iii).] The Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) describes a plant in which exhaust gases are conveyed to different parts of a combined steam generator, superheater and feedwater heater, the steam being used in a turbine driving a dynamo. The combined apparatus G comprises a feedwater heater e fed by a pump Pa, a steam generator g and a superheater s. Exhaust gases from an internal-combustion engine enter through pipes s<1>, s<2> and the steam is conveyed to the two stages of a turbine which drives a dynamo. Steam may also be supplied to the turbine through a pipe vb connected to a steam superheater s<11> heated by the engine exhaust. The steam is conveyed to the superheater from a chamber evb, also heated by exhaust gases, and fed with steam from the engine water jacket: steam condensed at G is returned to the cylinder jacket. In a modification the water jacket steam is dispensed with. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
