Abstract
352,713. Reversing-gearing. TROY LAUNDRY MACHINERY CO., Inc., 11, Park Place, New York, U.S.A. June 30, 1930, No. 19796. Convention date, Aug. 21, 1929. [Class 80 (ii).] Reversing-gearing for laundry machines comprises a single driving belt 40 which passes in opposite directions round pulleys on two shafts 20, 22 which are geared to the same driven wheel 12. Pulleys 26, 32, Fig. 3, in staggered relation are keyed to the shafts 20, 22 and wider pulleys 28, 34 are loose. The pulley 38, Fig. 5, is a guide. The belt 40, which passes over the pulley 32 and under the pulley 28, is moved laterally of Fig. 3 into the plane of either fast pulley to drive the wheel 12 in one direction or the other, or into a middle position where there is no drive. The wheel 12 may drive a washing machine, which may be automatically reversed by means shown in Fig. 4. A loose pulley 34, which is always driven by the belt, is geared to a wheel 46 with an eccentric pin 48 turning constantly in the space between two cams 50 in a frame carrying the belt shifter 52.
