[Class 132 (iii).] In a mechanical toy of the kind in which a mannikin plays a xylophone or similar musical instrument, the hammer 27 is positioned over the selected bar 3 by a rotating cam 29, the periphery of which is followed by a toothed sector 23 meshing with a pinion 22 at the foot of the mannikin. The toy is driven by a spring 9 connected through a train of gears to an eccentric weight 40 serving as a braking device. The hammer is raised and allowed to drop at regular intervals by a rod 19 bearing at its lower end on a helical cam 18.
