Abstract

351,539. Vehicle headlights. LIMOGES, J. D. W., 49, Joyce Avenue, Outremont, Quebec, Canada. March 27, 1930, No. 9746. [Class 75 (iv).] In a vehicle headlight in which a supplementary reflector 8 is mounted above an opening 6 in the upper part of the main reflector 4, the supplementary reflector is so disposed as to project a beam of light 9-9 which passes through the space enclosed by the main reflector but does not impinge upon the main reflector. The axis of the supplementary reflector may intersect the axis of the - main reflector at a point adjacent the plane of the front edge of the main reflector. The supplementary reflector may be smaller, of similar shape, and formed integrally with the main parabolic reflector, and it may be housed in a casing 7 formed integrally with the main casing 2. The supplementary electric bulb 10 is entirely screened from the vision of an oncoming driver and is preferably of lower power than the main bulb 5.
